CVBL: Detroit Downs Philadelphia
Detroit looked like champions today, beating Philadelphia 114-95. "That's the best we've seen them for a while," said an overwhelmed Philadelphia coach Bob. "None of the tapes we had of them showed the fluid execution that we saw out there today, and frankly we just weren't prepared as well as they were. I take full responsibility for that; with better preparation we could have won. Instead they just took over the game and never let us back in."
Detroit was led by Henderson (33 points, 1 assists, 2 steals), Wood (21 points, 16 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Day (11 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals). Philadelphia was led by Jakes (19 points, a block), Parker (18 points, 8 boards, 1 assists), Joseph (14 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, a block).
Detroit jump to 2-0 and 2-0 at home. They stay at #1 in the Central and advance to #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. With this defeat, Philadelphia fall to 1-1. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and move down to #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
