CVBL: Golden State Breaks out Whoopin' Stick
Golden State ruined the day for Charlotte with a 106-80 blowout. In a pregame interview, Charlotte coach Bob was optimistic about his team's chances. "We've made some mistakes lately, but if everyone does what they are supposed to we can beat Golden State. Don't get me wrong, Perez Suarez has built a good team and there's a reason they're the favorites. But we're just as good if we stop making our mental mistakes." Said Charlotte star Sandercock, "Coach is right. We've done some reworking of our talent and our game plan, and we've got what it takes to play with Golden State."
Those predictions turned out to be wishful thinking, as Bob and his team will go back to the drawing boards after getting shredded in today's game.
Golden State was led by Fenty (17 points, 13 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Odell (17 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, a block), Mcdougal (9 points, 6 boards, 3 assists). Charlotte was led by Sandercock (14 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, 3 steals), Homen (15 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a block), Dimascio (13 points, 5 boards, 1 assists).
After this win, Golden State stand at 1-0 and 1-0 at home. They improve to #2 in the Pacific and advance to #6 overall in the Western Conference. Charlotte fall to 0-1 after this defeat. They move down to #5 in the Southeast and move down to #12 overall in the Eastern Conference.
