CVBL: Minnesota Cruises to 119-104 Win over San Antonio
Minnesota brushed past an overmatched San Antonio team today 119-104. Always politically correct, Minnesota coach Bob stated simply "We just managed to do what we needed to get done out there. The players had solid execution all around, and Prince's effort helped set the pace. San Antonio is a team we've had success against in the past, which I think gave us a bit more confidence coming in."
San Antonio coach Bob was a little more frank. "We knew going in that we'd need a miracle to beat Minnesota, and we didn't get it. They have better players and a better coach, and did what they were supposed to do out there. I'm just glad the final score wasn't even worse."
Minnesota was led by Prince (14 points, 9 assists, 3 steals), Patterson (18 points, 10 boards, 0 assists, a block), Mark (23 points, 1 assists, a block). San Antonio was led by Stroman (26 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Meyers (12 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals), Wright (11 points, 8 boards, 1 assists).
With today's win, Minnesota stand at 2-1 and 1-0 at home. They move up to #1 in the Northwest and advance to #3 overall in the Western Conference. San Antonio stand at 0-2 with today's defeat. They remain at #5 in the Southwest and fall to #15 overall in the Western Conference.
