CVBL: New Orleans Tops Dallas
New Orleans beat Dallas today in a 99-96 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Dallas would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Forrester. But the tide finally turned in the end, with New Orleans star Haines leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said New Orleans coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Haines was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
New Orleans was led by Haines (22 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Jones (23 points, 2 assists, a steal), Mitchell (11 points, 6 assists, 2 steals). Dallas was led by Forrester (26 points), Perry (25 points), Williams (13 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks).
New Orleans jump to 2-0 and 2-0 at home after today's victory. They remain at #3 in the Southwest and move up to #5 overall in the Western Conference. Dallas are now 0-2 with the loss. They stay at #4 in the Southwest and move down to #13 overall in the Western Conference.
