CVBL: Toronto Express Steamrolls Cleveland 117-107
Cleveland failed to make the most of their chances, coming up short 117-107 against Toronto in today's contest. "They got a gift, no question in my mind," grumbled Cleveland coach Bob. "We outplayed them today, but just couldn't come up with the big plays when we were threatening to score. I just can't wait until the rematch; we'll show them who's really the best."
Toronto coach Bob saw things a little differently. "I'm proud of our defensive effort today. They avoided giving up the big plays, and really came through in the key situations. Bob may blame his offense, but they'd have been able to score if they didn't have good opposition."
Toronto was led by Ott (28 points), Mask (12 points, 10 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Mattox (21 points, a block). Cleveland was led by Fanny (14 points, 5 boards, 10 assists, 2 steals, a block), Smith (21 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 4 steals), Sigler (27 points, a block).
After this win, Toronto improve to 2-1 and 2-1 at home. They improve to #1 in the Atlantic and advance to #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland drop to 0-2 after this loss. They hold at #4 in the Central and drop to #13 overall in the Eastern Conference.
