CVBL: Coach Young Gets Big Win over New York
Utah dominated New York today, winning by a final score of 105-88. Although the score was 0-0 at the start of the game, Utah quickly took charge and, aside from brief flurries of activity by New York, were never really threatened. "We were schooled out there," said New York coach Bob. "I mean it wasn't a blowout, but they sure were in control the entire game. [Utah coach] Coach Young did a great job getting his team ready for the game, and Henderson was nearly unstoppable."
Utah was led by Henderson (31 points, 16 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 4 blocks), Riser (9 points, 7 assists, 4 steals), Lacroix (13 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, a steal). New York was led by Rowe (27 points, 1 assists, a block), Gause (10 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Simpson (8 points, 8 assists, 2 steals).
With this win, Utah are now 2-1. They advance to #2 in the Northwest and move up to #5 overall in the Western Conference. New York stand at 1-2 and 0-1 at home. They move down to #4 in the Atlantic and drop to #11 overall in the Eastern Conference.
