LA Lakers came up short today against San Antonio, falling 90-88. "That was a really tough game to lose," said LA Lakers coach Andreas Helmle after the game. "We came in thinking we could beat these guys. And we really played them well. But a few too many mistakes on our part kept us from getting the 'W'." One player who definitely can't be too downcast is Monroe, whose outstanding game was one of the bright points for LA Lakers and caused some other teams to take notice.

San Antonio was led by Lynch (18 points, 7 boards, 5 assists, a steal), Obryant (10 points, 12 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Gonzalez (14 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a steal).
