CVBL: Miami Gets Win over Toronto

Toronto came in as the heavy favorites and played like they knew it, in one of the laziest efforts the league has seen for a while. "Before the game, I kept telling them that they needed to stay focused. Sure, Miami isn't very good, but they're not going to lay down and play dead either," said Toronto coach Bob. "But nothing worked. I even heard some players betting on the margin of victory." That overconfidence cost them, as they lost 133-101.

The credit goes to Miami coach Bob, who had his team playing the best they've played in a while. The game plan was perfect, and Miami took advantage of every opportunity they were given. "We caught them with their guard down," he said after the game. "They'd probably win a rematch, but that doesn't matter. All that matters is today's score."

Miami was led by Fenty (21 points, 17 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Files (24 points, 9 boards, 5 assists, a steal), Martin (20 points, 4 assists, 5 steals). Toronto was led by Stacey (22 points, 4 blocks), Moore (24 points, 5 boards, 0 assists), Schrock (11 points, 2 assists, a steal, a block).

Miami are now 1-2 and 1-0 at home. They remain at #3 in the Southeast and advance to #10 overall in the Eastern Conference. Toronto are now 2-1 with this loss. They drop to #3 in the Atlantic and drop to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
