CVBL: Golden State Wins

Golden State downed Cleveland today 85-79, thanks to a solid effort by star Glass. The game lived up to its hype, with both teams having their moments but neither side able to dominate for any extended length of time. Said Glass after the game, "This one could have easily gone either way. We're just glad that we came out with the win." Coach Perez Suarez echoed the sentiments, saying "Cleveland came out strong and ready to play, and we knew from the start that it would be a battle out there. Probably if we played them 10 times, both sides would get five wins. But we got the win today, and that's what counts."

Cleveland players were disappointed after the game, and coach Bob had his hands full keeping their spirits up. "They know they played their hearts out today, and that it wasn't enough. That's a tough feeling. Especially for Stancil, who had one heck of a game but couldn't carry the whole team on his shoulders."

Golden State was led by Glass (8 points, 7 boards, 7 assists, 5 steals), Stanford (23 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal), Adkins (10 points, 13 boards, 1 assists). Cleveland was led by Stancil (19 points, 12 boards, 0 assists), Thompson (10 points, 1 assists, 3 steals, 4 blocks), Martin (20 points).

Golden State jump to 2-1 and 2-1 at home with the win. They hold at #4 in the Pacific and improve to #8 overall in the Western Conference. Cleveland drop to 1-3 with this loss. They remain at #3 in the Central and drop to #11 overall in the Eastern Conference.
