CVBL: Charlotte Breaks out Whoopin' Stick
A rock-solid Charlotte team routed Oklahoma Cty, 104-79. "It sure felt good out there," said today's star, Bailey. "We basically accomplished what we wanted to do on offense and defense. Coach's game plan worked perfectly."
Oklahoma Cty coach Bob was disappointed with the game, but not completely surprised. "Charlotte is a great team, and we knew going in that if they played their best we didn't stand a chance. The only way we were going to win was if we got some breaks, and we didn't. But it was a great learning experience; they showed us our weaknesses."
Charlotte was led by Bailey (13 points, 20 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Vance (12 points, a steal, 7 blocks), Carreon (7 points, 2 steals). Oklahoma Cty was led by Parker (17 points, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Matthews (14 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a block), Clark (9 points, 0 assists, a steal, a block).
Charlotte are now 2-1 and 2-1 at home. They hold at #2 in the Southeast and advance to #6 overall in the Eastern Conference. Oklahoma Cty stand at 2-2. They drop to #4 in the Northwest and drop to #11 overall in the Western Conference.
