CVBL: Denver Downs Portland
Denver posted a solid 99-86 win over Portland today. "I don't think we left any doubt over who was the better team today," said Denver coach Bob. "We pretty much did whatever we wanted out there, and I don't think they ever figured out what to do about Smiley's play."
It will be a tough task for Portland coach Bob to get his team up for their next game. "We really came in believing that we had a shot to win this one, but obviously that didn't happen. They outplayed us from the start, and there weren't too many happy faces in the locker room afterwards."
Denver was led by Smiley (25 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Preston (13 points, 3 assists, a steal), Woodard (14 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a block). Portland was led by Seger (11 points, 8 boards, 2 assists), Nelson (15 points, 2 assists, a block), Eatmon (13 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a block).
