CVBL: Bob Watches Houston Win
Houston beat Miami today, 95-94. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving Miami players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, Miami players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. Miami star Williams was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."
Interviews with Houston players were a bit less exciting, with Gagne giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."
Houston was led by Gagne (6 points, 19 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Fox (11 points, 4 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks), Battle (23 points, 3 blocks). Miami was led by Williams (29 points, 0 assists, a steal), Gleeson (11 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, a steal), Keeney (12 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block).
With the victory, Houston are now 4-0 and 2-0 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and hold at #1 overall in the Western Conference. With today's loss, Miami are now 1-2. They move down to #2 in the Southeast and drop to #6 overall in the Eastern Conference.
