CVBL: Indiana Comes up Big Over Boston
Boston failed to make the most of their chances, coming up short 98-90 against Indiana in today's contest. "They got a gift, no question in my mind," grumbled Boston coach Bob. "We outplayed them today, but just couldn't come up with the big plays when we were threatening to score. I just can't wait until the rematch; we'll show them who's really the best."
Indiana coach Coach Hitch saw things a little differently. "I'm proud of our defensive effort today. They avoided giving up the big plays, and really came through in the key situations. Bob may blame his offense, but they'd have been able to score if they didn't have good opposition."
Indiana was led by Cato (18 points, 3 assists, 2 steals), Williams (25 points, 2 assists), Owens (13 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block). Boston was led by Manly (17 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Mcneil (11 points, 5 boards, 9 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Knott (20 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a block).
Indiana jump to 2-1 and 1-0 at home with today's win. They remain at #2 in the Central and improve to #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Boston drop to 0-3 after this defeat. They hold at #5 in the Atlantic and drop to #15 overall in the Eastern Conference.
