CVBL: Memphis Takes Easy Win over New Orleans
Everything clicked for Memphis today, as they soundly beat New Orleans 104-82. New Orleans looked beaten for most of the afternoon, and the final outcome was in little doubt. "I thought we came out ready to play, but we were just overmatched," said New Orleans coach Bob. "It's kind of demoralizing to lose that way, knowing that you played your best and it wasn't nearly enough." Bob now has the unenviable task of getting his team ready to face another day.
Memphis coach Bob couldn't be happier, though. His game plan was executed perfectly, and his players were able to dominate all aspects of the game. "It's great to get a win like this, when everything went according to plan."
Memphis was led by Maxwell (33 points, a steal), Huey (5 points, a steal), Atkins (21 points, 1 assists, a steal). New Orleans was led by Smith (11 points, 2 steals), Panto (5 points, 3 steals), Morse (14 points, 0 assists, a steal).
Memphis stand at 3-1 and 3-0 at home with today's win. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and improve to #2 overall in the Western Conference. New Orleans drop to 1-2. They hold at #5 in the Southwest and fall to #14 overall in the Western Conference.
