CVBL: New York Upends Chicago
A walk in the park for Chicago turned into a nightmare, as New York pulled off the upset in today's showdown. As usual after a surprise loss, the finger pointing came after the game in the Chicago locker room. "Coach didn't really bother preparing us for this game. We'd already been watching films of our next opponent," said Patterson.
Bob acknowledged that was true, but said "our next opponent is three times as good as New York. Of course we dedicate more time to preparing for them. I'm not faulting Patterson, but if the rest of the team had played as hard we'd have won this game easily. It was a lack of effort, not preparation."
New York coach Bob could care less whose fault it was. "We're thrilled to get the win. They can make all the excuses they want, but we were the better team out there today."
New York was led by Prince (18 points, 18 boards, 0 assists), Graham (27 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Crawford (14 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 3 blocks). Chicago was led by Patterson (16 points, 9 boards, 0 assists), Campbell (8 points), Wall (17 points).
New York jump to 2-2 and 2-0 at home. They hold at #3 in the Atlantic and move up to #7 overall in the Eastern Conference. Chicago fall to 3-1 with today's defeat. They hold at #1 in the Central and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
