CVBL: Utah Escapes in Overtime
Despite being heavy favorites in this afternoon's contest, Utah had to go into overtime to beat Brooklyn. "A win's a win," said Coach Coach Young after the game. "At the end of the season, that's all that matters." His players were less content with their performance. "If we'd played someone good, we wouldn't have gotten this outcome," said star Bush after the game. "We got lucky today with who we had on the schedule." Bush was one of few bright points for Utah, and more than one of his teammates thanked him for pulling their rear ends out of the fire. "As bad as it was out there, we have lost if it weren't for him," said one player.
Utah was led by Bush (19 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, a block), Morris (22 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Almanzar (7 points, 2 steals). Brooklyn was led by Rancatore (5 points, 17 boards, 0 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks), Rosemond (32 points, a steal), Reddick (8 points, 6 boards, 8 assists, 3 steals, a block).
Utah are now 2-1 and 2-1 at home with this victory. They stay at #3 in the Northwest and improve to #8 overall in the Western Conference. With this defeat, Brooklyn drop to 2-2. They move down to #3 in the Atlantic and fall to #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
