CVBL: Minnesota Teaches Philadelphia a Lesson
A great game by Daniels led Minnesota to a 96-71 blowout of Philadelphia. "Coach had a talk with me before the game," said Daniels afterwards. "He told me Philadelphia was a tough team and that he needed me to play my best out there. He was right; I felt that when I started getting the job done, it gave the rest of the team a boost."
Said Philadelphia coach Bob, "He was magnificent out there. I'd like to think that we could have won if he hadn't played, but I doubt it. Their whole team was too good for us today."
Minnesota was led by Daniels (12 points, 16 boards, 1 assists), Mcneal (13 points, 13 boards, 0 assists), Cody (15 points, 3 assists, a block). Philadelphia was led by Hopkins (18 points, 1 assists), Gisi (6 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, a block), Ollie (8 points, 3 steals).
With this victory, Minnesota jump to 3-1. They hold at #1 in the Northwest and move up to #2 overall in the Western Conference. Philadelphia fall to 2-1 and 1-1 at home. They stay at #2 in the Atlantic and fall to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
