CVBL: Miami Express Steamrolls Washington 112-106

A solid outing by Romero led Miami to a 112-106 win over Washington. "Take away Romero, and we'd have won this thing," said Washington coach Bob. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Miami over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."

Miami coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Romero do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Romero will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."

Miami was led by Romero (22 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, a block), Fisher (5 points, 14 assists, a steal, a block), Williams (20 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block). Washington was led by French (18 points, 3 assists, 3 blocks), Shuler (6 points, 2 steals, a block), Borenstein (14 points, 11 boards, 2 assists).

Miami stand at 2-2 and 2-1 at home with this win. They advance to #1 in the Southeast and improve to #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. After the loss, Washington fall to 1-2. They fall to #3 in the Southeast and move down to #9 overall in the Eastern Conference.
