CVBL: Boston Takes Out New York

Boston pulled off the upset, beating New York in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. Their prospects certainly looked bleak on paper, with most predictions giving New York a solid win thanks to better skill at most positions. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept New York coach Bob guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Stubbs and others, gave Boston the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."

Boston was led by Stubbs (27 points, 0 assists, 3 steals), Odell (6 points, 12 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Walker (15 points, 2 assists, a steal, a block). New York was led by Woods (14 points, 8 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks), Hollis (14 points, 9 boards, 5 assists, a steal), Scott (18 points, 3 assists, a block).

With the win, Boston are now 1-3. They remain at #5 in the Atlantic and move up to #12 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's defeat, New York are now 3-1 and 1-1 at home. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and fall to #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
