CVBL: Detroit Go Up 2-0 in Eastern Conference Finals
Detroit lead Washington in the Eastern Conference Finals 2-0 with a dominant 106-92 win over Washington. Although the score was 0-0 at the start of the game, Detroit quickly took charge and, aside from brief flurries of activity by Washington, were never really threatened. "We were schooled out there," said Washington coach Bob. "I mean it wasn't a blowout, but they sure were in control the entire game. [Detroit coach] David Smith did a great job getting his team ready for the game, and Newman was nearly unstoppable."
Detroit was led by Newman (25 points, 12 boards, 3 assists, a steal), Best (6 points, 2 steals), Delgado (15 points, 9 boards, 3 assists). Washington was led by Prince (5 points, 6 boards, 11 assists, a steal, a block), Edwards (25 points), Maxwell (19 points).
