CVBL: Denver Still Down 1-2 in Western Conference Finals
Denver closed the deficit to LA Clippers in the Western Conference Finals 1-2 with a 74-68 win over LA Clippers, despite a great outing by Jenkins. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Adnan Bislimovic. "If we had another couple players like Jenkins out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Adnan Bislimovic has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Jenkins) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.
The normally-quiet Jenkins was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."
Denver was led by Simmons (12 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Davidson (6 points, 5 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals), Stith (7 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block). LA Clippers was led by Jenkins (20 points, 12 boards, 0 assists), Romero (11 points, 0 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Wood (11 points, a block).
