CVBL: Brooklyn Pull Ahead 2-1 in Eastern Conference Finals
Brooklyn are leading Milwaukee in the Eastern Conference Finals 2-1 with a big 111-97 win over an overmatched Milwaukee team. Always politically correct, Brooklyn coach Bob stated simply "We just managed to do what we needed to get done out there. The players had solid execution all around, and Owens's effort helped set the pace. Milwaukee is a team we've had success against in the past, which I think gave us a bit more confidence coming in."
Milwaukee coach Bob was a little more frank. "We knew going in that we'd need a miracle to beat Brooklyn, and we didn't get it. They have better players and a better coach, and did what they were supposed to do out there. I'm just glad the final score wasn't even worse."
Brooklyn was led by Owens (31 points, 7 assists, 2 steals, a block), Hargrove (9 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals), Jackson (6 points, 2 steals). Milwaukee was led by Jaramillo (22 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, 4 blocks), Hunter (20 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Thomas (24 points, 5 boards, 0 assists).
