CVBL: Memphis Coasts Past Portland
Memphis played a solid game today, beating Portland 102-81. Portland players and fans were expecting the game to be a bit closer, but everything went well for Memphis today. "It was really frustrating," said Portland star Shealey. "I thought we were going to be ready for this game, but we just couldn't do anything against them." Coach Bob seemed perplexed early on, but made a few adjustments late in the game that were too little, too late in this game but may help his side out next time these two teams meet.
Memphis was led by Thomas (23 points, 0 assists), Tompkins (20 points, 1 assists, a block), Eugene (9 points, 2 steals). Portland was led by Shealey (20 points, 8 boards, 1 assists), Harris (13 points, a block), Greem (6 points, 2 steals).
With the victory, Memphis stand at 8-3 and 4-1 at home. They move up to #1 in the Southwest and advance to #2 overall in the Western Conference. Portland snapped their tear at 6 games, and stand at 7-2. They stay at #1 in the Northwest and fall to #3 overall in the Western Conference.
