CVBL: 97-86 Utah
In one of the most important games of the season for both teams, Utah upstaged Orlando 97-86. Showing more glitter than a Brittany Spears concert, perfect Utah execution, a brilliant game by Perkins, and impeccable play-calling by Coach Young provided all the right ingredients for a big win.
Wright was key for Orlando, but after the game he looked like somebody had just run over his dog. "I thought we could do it. The whole game I was still thinking we were going to win. I guess that's the difference between thinking it and doing it. Give Utah credit - they are nothing but class. I just feel sorry for coach Bob. He had us ready and we let him down."
Utah was led by Perkins (22 points, 1 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Jones (22 points, a block), Robinson (20 points). Orlando was led by Wright (45 points), Buchanan (19 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a steal), Dixon (8 points, 1 assists).
Utah are now 8-2 and 7-0 at home. They remain at #1 in the Northwest and hold at #3 overall in the Western Conference. With the loss, Orlando fall to 6-5. They remain at #3 in the Southeast and remain at #7 overall in the Eastern Conference.
