CVBL: Memphis Surprises Brooklyn
Memphis made some believers today with a big win over Brooklyn. "I know all the headlines are going to say 'Memphis upset Brooklyn', but we knew going in that we could play with these guys. It's no upset in my book," said Memphis coach Bob. "We've had some trouble early on, but the team's finally getting it together. Just look at Brown - he was unstoppable." Today's win certainly helps get their message out, but Memphis still have some work ahead of them.
Memphis was led by Brown (14 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, a block), Murray (22 points, 6 boards, 0 assists), Dolly (21 points, a block). Brooklyn was led by Lee (19 points, 11 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Hester (19 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Olson (14 points, 2 steals).
Memphis jump to 7-3 and 3-2 at home with this win. They remain at #2 in the Southwest and stay at #6 overall in the Western Conference. Brooklyn broke their tear at 7 games, and are now 10-2. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
