CVBL: Portland Dominant in Win Over LA Clippers
Portland may have finally put an end to questions with a 106-84 win over LA Clippers today. The team has had its ups and downs recently, with some off-the-field incidents involving key players ruining the team's focus. Ortega was at the center of the controversy, after being arrested for weapon violations just three days ago. His legal problems were sorted out quickly, but the attention drawn to the incident received more news than today's game against LA Clippers. Ortega let his play do the talking today, helping his team put the unfortunate incident behind him with a solid game. "Definitely nice to be asked about a game MVP performance than about an arrest," he said later on.
Portland was led by Ortega (18 points, 8 boards, 4 assists, a steal, a block), Johnson (17 points, 7 boards, 0 assists), Williams (9 points, a steal, 3 blocks). LA Clippers was led by Edmonds (18 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, a block), Beeler (5 points, 3 steals), Powell (5 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, 4 blocks).
With today's win, Portland jump to 6-5 and 6-0 at home. They move up to #3 in the Northwest and move up to #6 overall in the Western Conference. LA Clippers stand at 5-4. They remain at #2 in the Pacific and fall to #7 overall in the Western Conference.
