CVBL: Utah Almost Knocked off by LA Clippers
A great game by Feaster saved Utah from upset, instead getting a 101-99 overtime win over LA Clippers. "I guess we got a bit overconfident and overlooked them," said Utah coach Coach Young. "You should never believe your own press, but that's what we did. Fortunately we had Feaster out there, who was on fire from the start and whose intensity gradually rubbed off on the rest of the players. It's a shame it took them so long to wake up, but we'll be happy with the win."
Utah was led by Feaster (20 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Smiley (13 points, 16 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Cummings (18 points, 3 blocks). LA Clippers was led by Brown (54 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, a block), Patrick (19 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Reese (12 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a block).
Utah stand at 6-5. They improve to #1 in the Northwest and advance to #3 overall in the Western Conference. LA Clippers drop to 7-3 and 5-2 at home after the defeat. They move down to #3 in the Pacific and fall to #5 overall in the Western Conference.
