CVBL: New York Coasts Past Houston

New York showed their mettle today with a convincing 94-83 win over Houston. "After some of the games we've had, I think we've left some doubt as to whether we can solidly beat anybody," said head coach Bob after the game. "I don't know that one game will erase those doubts, but I can certainly see the difference in the locker room."

The win came largely as the result of a great effort by Chatman, the New York star. Said Bob of him, "The game would have gone down to the wire without Chatman's efforts today. He really made the difference between another tough battle and a dominating win."

New York was led by Chatman (12 points, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Crawford (17 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks), Powell (21 points, 13 boards, 0 assists). Houston was led by Laboy (15 points, a steal), Lewis (17 points, 5 boards, 0 assists), Sims (14 points, a block).

New York improve to 10-2 after this victory. They stay at #2 in the Atlantic and stay at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Houston stand at 6-6 and 2-2 at home. They stay at #3 in the Southwest and move down to #9 overall in the Western Conference.
