CVBL: Miami Upsets Cleveland 98-89
"Miami Cheat Cleveland," screamed the headlines this morning after some questionable officiating in last night's contest. Even neutral observers wonder whether the set of refs will ever be asked to call another game, as Miami got the benefit of every marginal call and a few others that were obviously bad. "The game was rigged more than the WWF," said an upset Cleveland coach Bob after the game. "You've seen the replays. I don't need to say any more." League officials were slower to jump to conclusions, but an anonymous source said that the commissioner was watching the broadcast and couldn't believe his eyes in some cases. "The commish was saying he could have made better calls off his 5 inch travel TV."
Miami was led by Fisher (7 points, 17 assists), Frost (10 points, 13 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Jackson (18 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block). Cleveland was led by Courtney (17 points, 14 assists, 2 steals), Martin (36 points), Berry (12 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, a steal).
Miami stand at 4-7 and 2-4 at home. They hold at #5 in the Southeast and advance to #10 overall in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland drop to 6-5. They hold at #3 in the Central and remain at #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
