CVBL: Detroit Outplays a Better Miami Team 96-83

A great outing by Bigelow was enough to offset a superior Miami team and key a 96-83 upset by Detroit. There's no question that Miami is the better team, and even after today's loss they remain ranked ahead of Detroit. But that wasn't important today, when Bigelow took over and carried his team to a win. "What a gift," grinned Detroit coach David Smith. "The rest of the team got outplayed, but Bigelow stepped up and got us the win. No complaints, but we'd be surprised to get another win over Miami."

Said losing coach Bob, "What a tough way to lose. It seemed like we had everything under control today. We pretty much did what we wanted, except for Bigelow."

Detroit was led by Bigelow (11 points, 11 boards, 0 assists, a block), Marko (16 points, 2 steals, a block), Sandercock (15 points, a steal). Miami was led by Files (29 points, 2 steals, a block), Roberson (7 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, a block), Brown (10 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks).

After today's win, Detroit jump to 7-4 and 4-1 at home. They hold at #1 in the Central and move up to #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Miami snapped their winning streak at 6 games, and fall to 7-5. They remain at #1 in the Southeast and drop to #3 overall in the Eastern Conference.
