CVBL: Utah Schools Atlanta
Tracy had a great game today to lead Utah to a 111-80 rout of Atlanta. "Tracy played his heart out today, and the rest of the team followed," said Coach Young of his star's performance. "Admittedly this wasn't the toughest competition we've ever faced, but it's great to see a game where everything works as planned."
Faces were a bit longer in the Atlanta locker room. "Everybody knew that Atlanta are a great team and that it would take a flawless game on our part and some luck to beat them. But to lose by this kind of margin is disheartening. We were just completely ineffective out there. I'll have to look over the films and try to turn this into a learning experience. Certainly I can pick up some tips from Coach Young's coaching."
Utah was led by Tracy (8 points, 9 boards, 6 assists, 5 blocks), Dixson (26 points, a block), Riser (8 points, 10 assists, 2 steals). Atlanta was led by Rawlings (17 points), Laws (15 points, a steal), Baker (13 points, a steal).
After the victory, Utah are now 6-5 and 4-3 at home. They remain at #4 in the Northwest and move up to #8 overall in the Western Conference. Atlanta stand at 7-5 with this defeat. They remain at #1 in the Southeast and stay at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference.
