CVBL: Atlanta Express Steamrolls Portland 108-101
Atlanta star Jackson led his team to a win today in a key game against Portland. Although standings were at stake, the game was as much about bragging rights as anything. The teams have a long history against each other that began when coaches Bob and Bob traded insults after an apparently intentional injury to one of Bob's players. Although Bob has long denied that there was any malicious intent, Atlanta fans don't believe it and turn out in large numbers whenever Portland comes to town.
Atlanta was led by Jackson (26 points, 18 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Mcnair (15 points, 6 boards, 0 assists, a block), Buzzo (14 points, a steal, a block). Portland was led by Smith (34 points, 11 assists), Kimbell (25 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Vanderveer (11 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, 4 blocks).
Atlanta improve to 7-5 with today's win. They move up to #1 in the Southeast and move up to #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Portland stand at 7-6 and 5-3 at home after the loss. They fall to #5 in the Northwest and drop to #9 overall in the Western Conference.
