CVBL: Milwaukee Tops Miami
A solid outing by Williams led Milwaukee to a 119-110 win over Miami. "Take away Williams, and we'd have won this thing," said Miami coach Bob. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Milwaukee over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."
Milwaukee coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Williams do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Williams will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."
Milwaukee was led by Williams (30 points, 12 boards, 1 assists), Howe (16 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, a block), Roberson (17 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks). Miami was led by Hargrove (27 points, 11 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Banks (18 points, 2 steals), Cordner (14 points, 3 assists, a steal).
With this win, Milwaukee improve to 9-4 and 4-3 at home. They hold at #2 in the Central and stay at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Miami fall to 7-6 after this defeat. They remain at #2 in the Southeast and fall to #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
