CVBL: Portland Cruises to 108-93 Win over Phoenix
Portland may have finally put an end to questions with a 108-93 win over Phoenix today. The team has had its ups and downs recently, with some off-the-field incidents involving key players ruining the team's focus. Harris was at the center of the controversy, after being arrested for weapon violations just three days ago. His legal problems were sorted out quickly, but the attention drawn to the incident received more news than today's game against Phoenix. Harris let his play do the talking today, helping his team put the unfortunate incident behind him with a solid game. "Definitely nice to be asked about a game MVP performance than about an arrest," he said later on.
Portland was led by Harris (25 points, 3 assists, 2 steals), Shealey (16 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a block), Allbritton (15 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a block). Phoenix was led by Cruz (14 points, 12 assists, 2 steals), Adams (20 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, a block), Bell (12 points, 2 assists, 3 blocks).
Portland stand at 8-4. They remain at #1 in the Northwest and stay at #3 overall in the Western Conference. Phoenix are now 7-5 and 3-2 at home. They stay at #2 in the Pacific and move down to #8 overall in the Western Conference.
