CVBL: Utah Beats Dallas
Utah beat Dallas today in a 86-76 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Dallas would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Thompson. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Utah star Arcos leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said Utah coach Coach Young after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Arcos was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
Utah was led by Arcos (9 points, 24 boards, 0 assists, 6 blocks), Robinson (17 points, a steal), Patton (11 points, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks). Dallas was led by Thompson (26 points, 11 boards, 0 assists, a block), Schmidt (17 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Givens (11 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks).
Utah extended their winning streak 6 games and stand at 10-2. They stay at #1 in the Northwest and hold at #2 overall in the Western Conference. Dallas fall to 4-8 and 4-4 at home with today's defeat. They drop to #5 in the Southwest and move down to #14 overall in the Western Conference.
