CVBL: New York Plays the Spoiler
Indiana came in as the heavy favorites and played like they knew it, in one of the laziest efforts the league has seen for a while. "Before the game, I kept telling them that they needed to stay focused. Sure, New York isn't very good, but they're not going to lay down and play dead either," said Indiana coach Coach Hitch. "But nothing worked. I even heard some players betting on the margin of victory." That overconfidence cost them, as they lost 117-100.
The credit goes to New York coach Bob, who had his team playing the best they've played in a while. The game plan was perfect, and New York took advantage of every opportunity they were given. "We caught them with their guard down," he said after the game. "They'd probably win a rematch, but that doesn't matter. All that matters is today's score."
New York was led by Howie (30 points, 6 boards, 1 assists), Mack (24 points, 0 assists, a block), Olson (16 points, 8 boards, 1 assists). Indiana was led by Mack (12 points, 5 boards, 6 assists, 4 steals), Burke (18 points, 6 boards, 2 assists), Sanders (19 points, 5 boards, 2 assists).
With this win, New York are now 5-7 and 3-5 at home. They move up to #2 in the Atlantic and improve to #9 overall in the Eastern Conference. Indiana drop to 8-4 with the loss. They stay at #2 in the Central and remain at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference.
