CVBL: Minnesota Pulls Out Upset of LA Clippers
A much-improved Minnesota team pulled off the 118-95 upset of LA Clippers today. "That's the best we've played all season," said Minnesota coach Bob. "I've seen that potential in us all along, but for some reason it hasn't come out during games. Hopefully this outing can be the turning point for us that we can build on in future games."
LA Clippers was caught off-guard by new-look Minnesota. "What we got out there today wasn't what we had seen before or on tape, even in their best games. So while we always try to prepare for the worst, we had no idea that they could play as well as they did today. I still think we can beat them, and next time we'll have an idea what to look for."
Minnesota was led by Smith (35 points), Daniels (16 points, 15 boards, 0 assists, a steal), Gisi (12 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block). LA Clippers was led by Brown (25 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Reese (20 points, 0 assists, 5 blocks), Hayes (8 points, 2 steals).
Minnesota are now 8-5. They advance to #2 in the Northwest and improve to #6 overall in the Western Conference. LA Clippers are now 8-4 and 5-2 at home with this defeat. They stay at #2 in the Pacific and remain at #5 overall in the Western Conference.
