CVBL: Houston Beats Philadelphia in Overtime Thriller
Two great teams battled to a near-deadlock today, with Houston coming out on top over Philadelphia, 132-130 in overtime. "You run out of superlatives for a game like this," said an exhausted Houston coach Bob. Indeed, neither team ever really took control, leaving fans of both sides with knots in their stomachs. The action got even more intense when the game headed into overtime, as a single great play or mistake can easily end it. Unfortunately it couldn't last forever, and Houston pulled off the win.
Houston was led by James (19 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Conner (27 points, 2 steals, a block), Morrison (5 points, 11 assists, 2 steals, a block). Philadelphia was led by Joseph (23 points, 12 boards, 6 assists, a steal), Flournoy (29 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Parker (19 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks).
With this victory, Houston improve to 9-4 and 6-1 at home. They hold at #1 in the Southwest and stay at #2 overall in the Western Conference. After the defeat, Philadelphia are now 8-6. They fall to #2 in the Atlantic and drop to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
