CVBL: Indiana Beats Toronto
Indiana downed Toronto today 108-101, thanks to a solid effort by star Wade. The game lived up to its hype, with both teams having their moments but neither side able to dominate for any extended length of time. Said Wade after the game, "This one could have easily gone either way. We're just glad that we came out with the win." Coach Coach Hitch echoed the sentiments, saying "Toronto came out strong and ready to play, and we knew from the start that it would be a battle out there. Probably if we played them 10 times, both sides would get five wins. But we got the win today, and that's what counts."
Toronto players were disappointed after the game, and coach Bob had his hands full keeping their spirits up. "They know they played their hearts out today, and that it wasn't enough. That's a tough feeling. Especially for Murray, who had one heck of a game but couldn't carry the whole team on his shoulders."
Indiana was led by Wade (22 points, 9 boards, 1 assists), Burke (23 points, a steal), Sanders (9 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, a steal). Toronto was led by Murray (37 points, 5 boards, 0 assists), Wright (17 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, a steal), Chavis (17 points, 2 assists, a steal, a block).
Indiana are now 9-4. They remain at #2 in the Central and hold at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Toronto drop to 5-9 and 3-3 at home. They fall to #4 in the Atlantic and fall to #12 overall in the Eastern Conference.
