CVBL: Sacramento Beats Odds and Brooklyn
Sacramento pulled off the upset, beating Brooklyn in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. Their prospects certainly looked bleak on paper, with most predictions giving Brooklyn a solid win thanks to better skill at most positions. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept Brooklyn coach Bob guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Boone and others, gave Sacramento the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."
Sacramento was led by Boone (29 points, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Heath (13 points, 3 steals), Bowling (10 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, a block). Brooklyn was led by Knight (29 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Rosemond (19 points, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Townes (10 points, a steal, a block).
Sacramento stand at 6-8. They stay at #3 in the Pacific and advance to #10 overall in the Western Conference. Brooklyn stand at 8-5 and 6-2 at home. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and fall to #3 overall in the Eastern Conference.
