CVBL: Memphis Upsets Indiana
Memphis came out solid today, defying the predictions and notching the 100-91 upset of Indiana. "Somebody forgot to tell them they were underdogs," quipped Indiana coach Coach Hitch after the game. "No question, they were the better team out there today and deserved this win. I thought we came in prepared, but that was just a lot better than we've seen Memphis play for some time."
Credit has to be given to Memphis coach Bob, who brought his team together after some tough losses earlier and has them playing at their best. "Some of the us really took those losses hard," said star Brown. "But coach sat us down and showed us what we were doing wrong and what we needed to do to turn around. That was great to hear, and you saw the results today."
Memphis was led by Brown (7 points, 19 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks), Hayes (19 points, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Washington (18 points, 1 assists, a block). Indiana was led by Mack (19 points, 14 assists, 2 steals), Wade (16 points, 14 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Sigler (23 points, 8 boards, 3 assists).
Memphis are now 8-6 and 4-3 at home. They remain at #2 in the Southwest and stay at #7 overall in the Western Conference. Indiana drop to 8-5. They hold at #2 in the Central and hold at #6 overall in the Eastern Conference.
