CVBL: New York Wins 110-88
It has been a nightmare season for veteran coach Bob and his team. The bright points have been few and far between, as the team is looking for somewhere to hide. Today's game was equally painful, as the team opened up strong but collapsed down the stretch, failing to take advantages of numerous opportunities to get back in the game. Velazquez helped put the nail in the coffin today with his outstanding game.
"Bob talked a lot of junk before the start of the season." stated New York Velazquez. "They may be one of the worst teams in the league, but we know that everyone in that locker room wants to play just a little harder when they see Milwaukee on their schedule."
"Sure, they do stink." added head coach Bob, "but look at what happened when teams have been overconfident against them. Not that I can really blame them. If we were that pathetic, I think I would rather play all rookies and lose that way then be embarrassed."
New York was led by Velazquez (27 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a block), Powell (11 points, 19 boards, 0 assists, a steal), Crawford (10 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, a block). Milwaukee was led by Daniels (8 points, 12 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Botts (18 points, 0 assists, 2 steals), Rose (16 points, a block).
New York keep rolling with a winning streak of 9 games and improve to 13-2. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee drop to 3-11 and 3-5 at home. They hold at #5 in the Central and remain at #12 overall in the Eastern Conference.
