CVBL: Utah Gets Win Over New Orleans
The fans got what they came out for, as Utah won a seesaw 100-94 victory over New Orleans. "What a great game to have been a part of," said Utah star Feaster. "The momentum kept changing and neither team really had a chance to run away with the game. It just came down to having more in the tank at the end, and that was us."
New Orleans coach Bob was less enthusiastic about the game. "We had our chances to win the game, but didn't convert them. I'm most bothered that it seemed like we faded down the stretch; I think we may need to spend a little more time working on conditioning in the future. Regardless, it was a great game. Feaster and [New Orleans star] Jones really put on a show for the fans."
Utah was led by Feaster (13 points, 17 boards, 4 assists, 2 blocks), Smiley (16 points, 13 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Patton (21 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a block). New Orleans was led by Jones (52 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, a block), Haines (12 points, 12 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Brown (5 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a block).
After today's victory, Utah jump to 9-6 and 5-2 at home. They move up to #1 in the Northwest and improve to #3 overall in the Western Conference. New Orleans fall to 4-9. They hold at #4 in the Southwest and stay at #13 overall in the Western Conference.
