CVBL: Toronto Beats Odds and New York
Toronto came out solid today, defying the predictions and notching the 123-115 upset of New York. "Somebody forgot to tell them they were underdogs," quipped New York coach Bob after the game. "No question, they were the better team out there today and deserved this win. I thought we came in prepared, but that was just a lot better than we've seen Toronto play for some time."
Credit has to be given to Toronto coach Bob, who brought his team together after some tough losses earlier and has them playing at their best. "Some of the us really took those losses hard," said star Creer. "But coach sat us down and showed us what we were doing wrong and what we needed to do to turn around. That was great to hear, and you saw the results today."
Toronto was led by Creer (14 points, 16 assists, a steal, a block), Daniels (33 points), Day (24 points, 4 assists). New York was led by Chatman (6 points, 2 steals), Howie (23 points, 1 assists), Crawford (16 points, 3 assists, a block).
With today's victory, Toronto are now 7-8. They hold at #4 in the Atlantic and improve to #8 overall in the Eastern Conference. New York halted their winning streak at 9 games, and stand at 13-3 and 6-3 at home. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and stay at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
