CVBL: Memphis Wins Confidently Over Portland 118-100
Memphis looked like champions today, beating Portland 118-100. "That's the best we've seen them for a while," said an overwhelmed Portland coach Bob. "None of the tapes we had of them showed the fluid execution that we saw out there today, and frankly we just weren't prepared as well as they were. I take full responsibility for that; with better preparation we could have won. Instead they just took over the game and never let us back in."
Memphis was led by Sigler (12 points, 13 boards, 5 assists, 3 blocks), Keeney (18 points, 10 boards, 2 assists), Jensen (18 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block). Portland was led by Smith (17 points, 9 assists, 6 steals), Mcneil (16 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Vanderveer (9 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks).
Memphis stand at 11-2. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and hold at #2 overall in the Western Conference. Portland fall to 8-8 and 5-4 at home. They move down to #5 in the Northwest and move down to #9 overall in the Western Conference.
