CVBL: Milwaukee Over Orlando
Milwaukee beat Orlando today, 107-105. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving Orlando players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, Orlando players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. Orlando star Phillips was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."
Interviews with Milwaukee players were a bit less exciting, with Howe giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."
Milwaukee was led by Howe (34 points, 1 assists, a steal), Mitchel (10 points, 13 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Roberson (14 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, 4 blocks). Orlando was led by Phillips (19 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Mason (16 points, a steal, 4 blocks), Moore (14 points, 9 boards, 2 assists).
Milwaukee jump to 11-5. They advance to #1 in the Central and advance to #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Orlando are now 6-9 and 3-4 at home. They remain at #4 in the Southeast and fall to #11 overall in the Eastern Conference.
