CVBL: Bob Watches Sacramento Win
Sacramento overcame a great game by Laboy, beating Houston 89-85. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Bob. "If we had another couple players like Laboy out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Bob has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Laboy) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.
The normally-quiet Laboy was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."
Sacramento was led by Stanford (26 points, 20 boards, 2 assists), Sherrill (22 points, 1 assists, 3 steals), Davis (8 points, 14 boards, 2 assists). Houston was led by Laboy (28 points, 2 steals), Fox (16 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, a steal, a block), Sims (12 points, a steal, a block).
With today's win, Sacramento are now 12-3. They stay at #1 in the Pacific and stay at #1 overall in the Western Conference. Houston fall to 8-8 and 3-3 at home with today's defeat. They stay at #3 in the Southwest and remain at #8 overall in the Western Conference.
