CVBL: Denver 94, Utah 73 in Upset Win
A sloppy performance by Utah cost them this afternoon against Denver. "You play like that, and you're going to get beaten," said Utah coach Coach Young after the game. "Doesn't matter who you're playing - we proved that today." Poor play all afternoon, especially in clutch situations, proved costly for Utah and negated a solid outing by Bernard.
Denver was led by Downs (32 points, 21 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Simpson (12 points, a block), Rosemond (5 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block). Utah was led by Bernard (14 points, 10 boards, 2 assists), Morris (9 points, 2 assists, a steal, 4 blocks), Almanzar (6 points, 2 steals).
With the win, Denver jump to 7-7 and 6-4 at home. They move up to #3 in the Northwest and improve to #9 overall in the Western Conference. Utah are now 7-7 after the defeat. They move down to #4 in the Northwest and drop to #11 overall in the Western Conference.
