CVBL: Portland Beats Chicago

Portland beat Chicago today, 113-103. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving Chicago players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, Chicago players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. Chicago star Tiller was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."

Interviews with Portland players were a bit less exciting, with Shealey giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."

Portland was led by Shealey (32 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Elliott (7 points, 13 assists, 3 steals, a block), Harris (27 points, 1 assists). Chicago was led by Tiller (23 points, 9 assists, 2 steals), Glover (10 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Humphrey (15 points, 0 assists, 3 steals).

With the victory, Portland jump to 10-5 and 5-1 at home. They stay at #2 in the Northwest and stay at #5 overall in the Western Conference. Chicago are now 4-11 with today's defeat. They remain at #5 in the Central and hold at #15 overall in the Eastern Conference.
