CVBL: Chicago Surprises Sacramento
A new-look Chicago team shocked Sacramento today, winning 106-89. "Wow," remarked Sacramento coach Bob. "We came in thinking we knew what to expect, but we were sure wrong. [Chicago coach] Bob really did his job preparing for the game, and has turned his team around. If they can keep it up, they'll be a force to be reckoned with."
Said Bob, "The players have struggled a bit with our system here. It's nice to see things finally start to sink in. I also have to thank Johnson. I think some of the players were a bit intimidated coming in, but after he started dominating the whole team rode the wave."
Chicago was led by Johnson (13 points, 6 boards, 13 assists, a steal), Spann (22 points, 8 boards, 0 assists), Campbell (12 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, a steal, a block). Sacramento was led by Stanford (10 points, 14 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Akers (21 points, 1 assists), Bravo (19 points, 0 assists, a block).
With the win, Chicago stand at 6-10 and 4-3 at home. They stay at #4 in the Central and hold at #11 overall in the Eastern Conference. Sacramento drop to 12-4. They hold at #1 in the Pacific and remain at #1 overall in the Western Conference.
