CVBL: Philadelphia Surprises Dallas in Overtime
Philadelphia had everything work out for them, as they beat Dallas 119-113 in overtime today. Some bad play by Dallas and some good breaks allowed them to stay in the game, forcing overtime. The luck continued, giving them the win. After the game, Philadelphia coach Bob had nothing but good things to say about his team: "I didn't know if we would be able to pull it out when we went into overtime, but these guys played their hearts out today and didn't give up. I think as a team we are starting to see what we are capable of."
Dallas coach Bob saw things a little differently. "That was a gift win if I ever saw one. The game was ours, but we didn't put them away. Even at the end of regulation, we had our chances. And then we kept up our lousy play during overtime. We sure didn't deserve to win, but for Bob to talk about how great his team played shows that he doesn't have a clue."
Philadelphia was led by Phelan (26 points, 8 boards, 6 assists), Mitchell (26 points, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Palacio (8 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, a steal). Dallas was led by Digiulio (44 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Dossman (23 points, 4 assists, 2 steals), Lenahan (12 points).
After this victory, Philadelphia stand at 7-7 and 4-2 at home. They hold at #4 in the Atlantic and remain at #7 overall in the Eastern Conference. Dallas stand at 10-5 with the loss. They hold at #2 in the Southwest and hold at #4 overall in the Western Conference.
