CVBL: New York Steals Spotlight from Washington
New York played a solid game today, beating Washington 95-79. Washington players and fans were expecting the game to be a bit closer, but everything went well for New York today. "It was really frustrating," said Washington star Telfer. "I thought we were going to be ready for this game, but we just couldn't do anything against them." Coach Bob seemed perplexed early on, but made a few adjustments late in the game that were too little, too late in this game but may help his side out next time these two teams meet.
New York was led by Woods (18 points, 6 boards, 10 assists, a steal), Hollis (19 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a block), Frazier (16 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block). Washington was led by Telfer (25 points, 2 blocks), Powell (8 points, 4 steals, a block), Butler (10 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block).
New York improve to 10-6. They remain at #1 in the Atlantic and move up to #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Washington fall to 6-9 and 3-3 at home. They move down to #5 in the Southeast and move down to #12 overall in the Eastern Conference.
