CVBL: Milwaukee Pulls Off Upset over Miami
Milwaukee came out solid today, defying the predictions and notching the 100-89 upset of Miami. "Somebody forgot to tell them they were underdogs," quipped Miami coach Bob after the game. "No question, they were the better team out there today and deserved this win. I thought we came in prepared, but that was just a lot better than we've seen Milwaukee play for some time."
Credit has to be given to Milwaukee coach Bob, who brought his team together after some tough losses earlier and has them playing at their best. "Some of the us really took those losses hard," said star Young. "But coach sat us down and showed us what we were doing wrong and what we needed to do to turn around. That was great to hear, and you saw the results today."
Milwaukee was led by Young (17 points, 4 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks), Mcduffie (13 points, 17 boards, 1 assists, a block), Ellison (6 points, 2 steals). Miami was led by Castro (29 points, 4 assists, 4 steals), Fenty (8 points, 11 boards, 6 assists, a steal), Jones (14 points, 2 assists, 3 steals).
With today's victory, Milwaukee jump to 7-7 and 4-3 at home. They remain at #2 in the Central and improve to #7 overall in the Eastern Conference. Miami fall to 9-7. They hold at #2 in the Southeast and stay at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference.
