CVBL: Toronto Pulls Out Upset of Philadelphia

A walk in the park for Philadelphia turned into a nightmare, as Toronto pulled off the upset in today's showdown. As usual after a surprise loss, the finger pointing came after the game in the Philadelphia locker room. "Coach didn't really bother preparing us for this game. We'd already been watching films of our next opponent," said Blunt.

Bob acknowledged that was true, but said "our next opponent is three times as good as Toronto. Of course we dedicate more time to preparing for them. I'm not faulting Blunt, but if the rest of the team had played as hard we'd have won this game easily. It was a lack of effort, not preparation."

Toronto coach Bob could care less whose fault it was. "We're thrilled to get the win. They can make all the excuses they want, but we were the better team out there today."

Toronto was led by Day (22 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, a block), Perkins (21 points, 1 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Daniels (25 points). Philadelphia was led by Blunt (20 points, 3 assists), Austin (15 points, 2 assists, a steal), Ziegler (18 points, a block).

Toronto stand at 9-8 and 5-3 at home. They stay at #4 in the Atlantic and move up to #6 overall in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia drop to 10-6. They fall to #3 in the Atlantic and fall to #5 overall in the Eastern Conference.
