CVBL: New York Beats Houston 90-81

The fans got what they came out for, as New York won a seesaw 90-81 victory over Houston. "What a great game to have been a part of," said New York star Hollis. "The momentum kept changing and neither team really had a chance to run away with the game. It just came down to having more in the tank at the end, and that was us."

Houston coach Bob was less enthusiastic about the game. "We had our chances to win the game, but didn't convert them. I'm most bothered that it seemed like we faded down the stretch; I think we may need to spend a little more time working on conditioning in the future. Regardless, it was a great game. Hollis and [Houston star] Howard really put on a show for the fans."

New York was led by Hollis (13 points, 10 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Woods (12 points, 3 steals), Scott (13 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Houston was led by Howard (23 points, 3 blocks), Aguilar (15 points, a steal, a block), Marchese (11 points, 6 boards, 0 assists).

New York have won their last 5 games and improve to 11-6. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and remain at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Houston are now 9-8 and 8-5 at home. They drop to #4 in the Southwest and move down to #11 overall in the Western Conference.
