CVBL: 108-94 Houston
Everything clicked for Houston today, as they soundly beat Chicago 108-94. Chicago looked beaten for most of the afternoon, and the final outcome was in little doubt. "I thought we came out ready to play, but we were just overmatched," said Chicago coach Bob. "It's kind of demoralizing to lose that way, knowing that you played your best and it wasn't nearly enough." Bob now has the unenviable task of getting his team ready to face another day.
Houston coach Bob couldn't be happier, though. His game plan was executed perfectly, and his players were able to dominate all aspects of the game. "It's great to get a win like this, when everything went according to plan."
Houston was led by James (23 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Howard (18 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Rogers (17 points, 2 assists, a steal). Chicago was led by Peterson (17 points, 3 assists, a block), Espinoza (9 points, 10 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Blackwell (9 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a block).
Houston are now 12-5 with this win. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and advance to #2 overall in the Western Conference. With today's defeat, Chicago drop to 3-13 and 2-3 at home. They hold at #5 in the Central and hold at #15 overall in the Eastern Conference.
