CVBL: Sacramento and Memphis Down to the Wire

Sacramento, led by Stanford, got the critical win in today's matchup against Memphis. After the game, the Sacramento star was surrounded by would-be interviewers, a not uncommon sight recently as he has moved into a leading role on his team. After taking a few questions, he met his long-time friend, Memphis's Calloway, who had played his heart out during the game only to come up short. "It's always tough when we play, he said. I always like to see him do well, and vice versa. But we can't both come out winners as long as we're on different teams." Rumors continue to circulate about the two friends trying to find their way onto the same team.

Sacramento was led by Stanford (26 points, 17 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Taylor (9 points, a steal, a block), Sherrill (18 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, a steal, 2 blocks). Memphis was led by Calloway (5 points, 6 boards, 22 assists, 4 steals), Murray (32 points, 1 assists, a steal), Washington (13 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a block).

Sacramento stand at 13-4 and 6-1 at home with this victory. They hold at #1 in the Pacific and stay at #1 overall in the Western Conference. Memphis drop to 9-8 with the loss. They stay at #2 in the Southwest and fall to #8 overall in the Western Conference.
