CVBL: Brooklyn Wins

A solid outing by Alves led Brooklyn to a 88-85 win over Dallas. "Take away Alves, and we'd have won this thing," said Dallas coach Bob. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Brooklyn over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."

Brooklyn coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Alves do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Alves will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."

Brooklyn was led by Alves (16 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, 3 steals, 6 blocks), Lee (22 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Olson (22 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a steal). Dallas was led by Perry (32 points, 6 boards, 0 assists), Forrester (22 points, 0 assists), Langley (13 points, a block).

Brooklyn stand at 12-6. They stay at #2 in the Atlantic and remain at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Dallas drop to 11-7 and 4-3 at home. They remain at #1 in the Southwest and remain at #2 overall in the Western Conference.
