CVBL: Bob Watches New York Win
New York star Powell led his team to a win today in a key game against New Orleans. Although standings were at stake, the game was as much about bragging rights as anything. The teams have a long history against each other that began when coaches Bob and Bob traded insults after an apparently intentional injury to one of Bob's players. Although Bob has long denied that there was any malicious intent, New York fans don't believe it and turn out in large numbers whenever New Orleans comes to town.
New York was led by Powell (18 points, 13 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Crawford (16 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Turner (17 points, 2 steals). New Orleans was led by Jones (39 points, a steal), Haines (9 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 4 blocks), Breaux (17 points, 5 boards, 0 assists).
New York stand at 15-3 after the victory. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. New Orleans are now 4-11 and 2-5 at home with today's defeat. They remain at #5 in the Southwest and remain at #14 overall in the Western Conference.
